For Those Who Work With Families

Empowering parents. Strengthening communities. Changing futures.

Across the UK, schools, Family Hubs, and community organisations are seeing the same pattern; families facing deep-rooted challenges that traditional parenting programmes don’t always reach. That’s where Root & Rise comes in.

About Root & Rise

Root & Rise is an evidence-based, trauma-informed, six-week reparenting programme designed by the community, for the community. It was co-created with parents who have lived experience of trauma, poverty, and family breakdown. People who understand what support really needs to look and feel like.

The course helps parents

Discover: Helps parents understand how their own experiences and upbringing shape their current parenting.

Learn: Equips them with simple, practical tools to manage emotions, reduce stress, and create a calmer home environment.

Connect: Gives parents a safe, supportive space to build stronger relationships with their children through play and shared learning.

Grow: Supports parents to become more confident, grounded, and able to meet their children’s emotional and developmental needs.

Every participating parent receives weekly take-home resources to help embed learning and a playkit which consists of high-quality games and activities that turn learning into real-life connection at home.

Why It Works

Root & Rise bridges the gap between professional intervention and community-based support.

It’s

Trauma-Informed - all our facilitators are trauma-informed trained.

Evidence-based – grounded in psychological and social research.

Community-built – designed and refined with input from local parents and professionals.

Accessible – no literacy required; materials are visual, practical, and inclusive.

Free for parents – funded by partner organisations such as schools, family hubs, and local authorities.
