For Those Who Work With Families

Empowering parents. Strengthening families. Building healthier communities.

Across the UK, schools, Family Hubs, and community organisations are seeing the same pattern: families facing complex challenges rooted in trauma, poverty, isolation, and adversity.

Many existing parenting programmes struggle to reach the parents who need support the most.

Root & Rise was created to bridge that gap.

About Root & Rise

Root & Rise is a six-week, trauma-informed reparenting programme designed to support parents affected by adversity and help them build stronger relationships with their children.

The programme was co-designed with parents who have lived experience of trauma and disadvantage, ensuring it is practical, accessible, and relevant to families who often feel excluded from traditional parenting programmes.

Root & Rise helps parents to:

Discover
Understand how their own experiences and upbringing influence their parenting today.

Learn
Develop simple, practical tools to manage stress, regulate emotions, and create a calmer home environment.

Connect
Strengthen relationships with their children through play, attachment-building activities, and shared learning.

Grow
Build confidence, resilience, and the skills needed to support their children’s emotional and developmental wellbeing.

Each participating parent receives weekly take-home resources alongside a high-quality Playkit, enabling families to turn learning into meaningful connection at home.

Why It Works

Root & Rise sits at the intersection between professional intervention and community support, creating a space where parents feel safe enough to engage and grow.

The programme is:

Trauma-Informed
All facilitators are trained in trauma-informed practice and create psychologically

safe spaces for parents to reflect and grow.

Evidence-Informed
Root & Rise draws on neuroscience, attachment theory, and early intervention research.

Community-Led
The programme was shaped with local parents and practitioners to ensure it reflects

real-life family experiences.

Accessible
The course uses visual tools, storytelling, and practical activities. Reading ability is not required.

Relationship-Based
Parents build supportive peer connections that continue beyond the programme.
